Consider Creative Contracting who

the type of construction we do we also specialize in chink application
and restoration of older log homes.
What would be the advantages of square
timber construction?
- Because wood “is alive” all wood
moves. Our objective is to have the movement complete before
construction. All Creative Contracting Log homes are built
with quality pre-dried, pre-checked, and pre-shrunk timber.
- Due to the type of doweling and its spacing,
we pride ourselves as one of the few types of construction on
the market today that are virtually earthquake resistant. Also
there is no settling or twisting of log.
Any finishing stains can
be applied upon completion of the building due to quality of the
timbers at the time of construction.
The
joints between the logs are sealed with state of the art chinking
compound. Any movement that does occur in the log
structure will be absorbed by the chink, ensuring an air tight fit.
For the men, low maintenance is required due to
no settling in this type of construction and therefore no adjustments
required for years to come like in other log home packages.
For
the women also, there is minimal dusting like one has on round
log homes. The surfaces of the timbers are flat making
it easy for hanging pictures and the like.
Building with us will be cheaper then round log home construction,
and lighter in weight for cheaper handling costs.
Two types of Square-Timbered Log Packages
- Our premium log home package,
elegant and timeless in its beauty, has standard 6”x8” timbers
with full dovetail notching. These packages are typically
done for full size homes
- Our more economical package has
standard 4”x6” timbers. The joints on these
packages are the butt and pass corner. Therefore this package
is used more for cabins, modular square-timbered homes, saunas
etc.
All
packages include timbers, doweling, chinking compound, window
and door openings cut to your specs, timber work complete to receive
roof system and predrilled for electrical. The price will
vary according to the size and design of the package.
